METROPLAN ORLANDO

Harold (”Harry”) Barley is the Executive Director of METROPLAN ORLANDO.  This organization is responsible under federal and state laws for transportation planning in Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties.

Harry’s worked in the transportation industry for 35 years.  Most of his experience was earned with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority building the Metro system in the Washington, D.C. area.  He’s also worked on regional transportation projects in the Republic of China and Athens, Greece.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York and did his graduate work in City and Regional Planning at the Catholic University of America.  He also is a graduate of the Management Program at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.

Harry belongs to a number of professional organizations and is active with a variety of civic groups.  He currently serves as a Governor’s appointee on the Wekiva Commission.  This Commission is charged with completing the beltway around the Orlando metropolitan area while protecting sensitive environmental assets and implementing progressive growth management practices.  Harry and his wife Leslie have two children.

Driving Directions:

I-4 Northbound (officially eastbound) – (DURING I-4 INTERCHANGE CONSTRUCTION) Take the Amelia Street exit. Turn right onto Amelia. Continue straight to Orange Avenue. Turn right onto Orange Avenue to Robinson Street. Turn left onto Robinson Street. Continue on Robinson St. to Broadway Av. Turn left onto Broadway Av then left onto Ridgewood St. The parking garage is on the right.

I-4 Southbound (officially westbound) – Take the SR 50 exit (exit 84). Continue straight along the service road parallel to I-4. When you reach Robinson St, turn left. Continue on Robinson St to Broadway Av. Turn left onto Broadway Av then left onto Ridgewood St. The parking garage is on the right.

From 408 Eastbound – Take the Orange Av./Delaney Av. exit. Keep to the right at the bottom of the ramp; this will loop you around to Orange Av. Turn right on Orange Av which becomes Rosalind Av. Continue on Rosalind Av to Robinson St, turn right onto Robinson St. Go to Broadway Av and turn left onto Broadway Av, then left onto Ridgewood St. The parking garage is on the right.

From 408 Westbound – Take the Rosalind Av exit. The ramp will lead you onto South Street (one-way street). Go a few blocks to Rosalind Avenue and turn right onto Rosalind Avenue. Continue on Rosalind Av to Robinson St, turn right. Go to Broadway Av and turn left onto Broadway Av, then turn left onto Ridgewood St. The parking garage is on the right.

From the Bee Line/OIA- Take SR 436 north to SR 408 (East-West Expressway). Take SR 408 west to the Rosalind Avenue exit. Exit onto South St. Take South St to Rosalind Av, turn right onto Rosalind Av. Continue on Rosalind Av to Robinson St, turn right. Go to Broadway Av and turn left onto Broadway Av, then turn left onto Ridgewood St. The parking garage is on the right.

Parking: Paid parking is available in the garages directly behind our building with access from Ridgewood Street. We will validate parking for (1) METROPLAN ORLANDO Board members; (2) citizen volunteers who serve on our committees; and (3) staff members from agencies who provide direct financial support to us (Orange County, Seminole County, Osceola County, City of Sanford, City of Altamonte Springs, City of Orlando, City of Kissimmee, City of Apopka, Orlando Sanford Airport Authority, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority, FDOT, and LYNX).
